Dear all,

We had a huge turn-out today-19 players! I think they all got motivated from watching the Pros last weekend at the Chevron Challenge!! Patrick Mikenas is a celebrity now on U-tube as Little Ricky Fowler! Go Patrick! They showed Patrick’s swing and how close it is to Ricky’s swing and of course we know Patrick dresses just like him. Patrick even got Ricky’s ball when Ricky finished 18 and walked off the green.

We started today with our warm-up and that included: Think Box-the time you spend planning a shot. The most important aspect of the think box, no matter how much or how little information you need is to come up with a clear and committed decision to your shot.

Putting: 1st putt-just look at target once, putt; 2nd-look, take two practice swings, putt; 3rd-kneel down behind the ball, get good sense of break, walk up look at target and putt; 4th-same as #3 but take 2 or 3 practice swings;5th-read putt from both sides, walk up, look at target hit putt with no practice swings; 6th-same as #5 but add two practice swings. Think about which preparation worked best for YOU!

Chipping/Bunker-At each location hit two shots-State landing area in weak, indecisive voice then state in decisive voice and confident.

Full Swing:  Round one-Hit shots to all flags but first round do not get yardage, pick club and just hit; Round Two: Get correct yardage, factor in wind, aim, and then hit.

We went to the first tee box with the following playing focus: Based on their warm-up, prepare each shot with the right amount of information and then commit and trust your swing. State plans with confident voice!

Low gross for today was Patrick Mikenas with a 39, 2nd Low gross was tie between Zach Ahmadi and Richard Blayney with 44’s, and 3rd low gross was a tie Ryan Wicks and Ryan St Jean shooting 46.
