Friday, March 1 is the first of four Registration & Evaluation days. Each one will run from 4pm to 5:30pm. All new and former participants must attend a registration and evaluation day to be eligible for the league.
You DO NOT have to be a resident of Simi Valley to participate in the league!
The League is open to Boys and Girls, ages 6 to 14 - Beginning to Intermediate skill level. At registration, players will be evaluated on their relative golf skill on all parts of the game. 80 youth will be selected to participate on one of 20 teams consisting of 4 players each. Youth deemed not quite ready for the league will have the opportunity to participate in our developmental program featuring mostly on-course golf coaching and instruction to get participants ready for the next league. The Spring Season of the USGLL Simi Valley will feature two divisions - Tour & Mini-Tour each featuring up to ten 4 player teams with a volunteer high school golfer as coach and volunteer parents as an assistants. Players will be placed on teams after evaluation – you may NOT select your own team.
During the 10 week season, each team will play every other team in the league once. All matches will be 2 player vs. 2 player match play formats (way more fun – like the Ryder Cup!!) This format is also much less stress, because every hole is essentially a new game!! A bad hole doesn’t ruin your chance for winning the match. 2 player match play Scramble and 2 player Match Play Modified Alternate Shot will be the formats. Team matches will be held on Friday afternoons beginning on April 19, 2013.
Teams will also be provided with a weekly range practice at Sinaloa GC or Lindero CC or 5 on-course practice rounds to be scheduled by the coach once the teams are formed.
On week 10, divisional matches will be held to determine the divisional champions and set the stage for a final championship match. An awards ceremony and picnic will be scheduled after the conclusion of the finals to recognize all players for participating and to select an “All League” team to represent the league in a regional USGLL competition.
Registration fee for participants is $175 and includes team shirt, cap, all matches, and all practices! Quite a value!
At Registration & Evaluation Day, each participant will be evaluated for their relative golf skill and rated as A, B, C, or D – each team will be comprised of an ABC and D player.
Registrants that are deemed not quite ready for on course play can still join the league and will participate in weekly developmental golf clinics taught by GAVC teaching professionals. The clinic series will develop the fundamentals and skills of each participant AND feature regular on-the-course play so they will be ready for the next season!

The purpose of the league is to get beginning and intermediate level junior golfers to:
• Enjoy playing the game on a regular basis – not just hitting range balls or taking lessons.
• Learn about Teamwork, Integrity, and Respect
• Make new golfing friends.
• Enjoy competition, build confidence and character!
• Become golfers for life!!
